Pool Closure Update: 9/5/2021

To the Dunn Health Center Community:

I have always been transparent with my clients regarding my small business. To that effect, I must inform you that all Aqua Classes at the Exeter Mills Pool are canceled indefinitely.

I have been informed by Chinburg Properties that my Aqua program is no longer viable for the Exeter Mills Building and Residents and that the Dunn Health Center Clients can no longer take part in using their facility. I am told my program has added too much maintenance to the pool and the women’s locker room. I was led to believe the pool was down the entire week when in fact it was only down for 2 days. While I had a contract with them throughout May of 2022, after much thought, I feel as though litigation for a breach of contract could bankrupt my small business.

My motivation for this community is and has always been about personal growth and reaching our own goals, and I hold the Dunn Health Center to that same set of values. While currently, I am shocked and I am saddened. For the last five years, I have seen our Aqua community grow in friendship, laughter, and fitness. Many of you have told me how the Aqua classes have changed your lives and improved your health conditions. The focus of our classes has been nothing short of beneficial and community-driven.

The Dunn Health Center will continue to operate at our 92 Portsmouth Avenue location with our non-aqua programs. I assure you, I am working tirelessly to find a suitable replacement location for the Aqua Classes, as they are a pillar of what Dunn Health Center offers the community. I will keep you all informed, and I will be available to you all if you have any questions or concerns. I will be issuing refunds out within the next few days as I review my records for those of you who have prepaid, I ask that if you feel you have paid in advance, shoot me a quick email and I will process your refund with the others.

Thank you to all in the Dunn Health Center family for again adjusting to another shift in the life of owning a small business. Let’s stay together and adapt as we move forward to our next chapter. I am grateful to you all.
